Back to work

After a not so relaxing five weeks of summer vacation (visiting four countries and swashbuckling the finish archipelago for a week) I’m finally back at work just to find 300 unread emails, spam and nonsense excluded.

Still I’m looking forward for a exciting fall with Flash 8 on it’s way, probably only a few weeks away, since a beta of the player has already been released. Altivec-optimisations and OpenGL-based hardware-rendering for modern Macs as well as some very solid performance on the new filters and bitmap caching make be drool.

On the developer front, I’m glad to see that Grant Skinner’s interface components (formerly GLIC, now mCOM) are also finally being beta-tested and it should not take too long for them to hit the market. We’ve never really wanted to develop our own components since GLIC was on its way and looked very promising.
