Adobe User Group Finland

May 11, 2006   //   by Tuomas Artman   //  No Comments

The Adobe User Group Finland’s site has gone on-line (for historic reasons at www.mmug.fi). We’re planning on holding our first meeting this month with speakers from at least Adobe and Nokia. If you live in Finland go ahead and join the group at the MMUG site.

Hello iMac

May 8, 2006   //   by Tuomas Artman   //  2 Comments

I just got my new iMac, after eight years of using a grey, dull PC (I used to work with Macs back in the MacOS 7 era). And I must say, just starting it up for the first time was the best user experience I’ve had in eight years. Smooth, beautiful and intelligent. Bootcamp was the last thing I needed to make the switch. First I thought that I would use Windows as the primary OS and MacOS X whenever I felt I needed some rest from ugly UI’s, but as it turns out, I’ve not booted once into Windows after I installed it. MacOS X just rocks.

  • Congrats :) Exactly my feelings after I decided to switch for the heck of it. My primary reason for it was that I had used windows-machines for the last 13? years and that was reason enough to try something different. And yea, never looked back. Just the little and bigger things that are so much better and too many to list.

  • I made the switch a year ago and haven’t looked back since. I was worried at the time that I would loose control over what goes on in my system when I left Windows, but I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that the opposite happened.
It’s nice to work with your operating system instead of against it for a change :)
